What Cooling Fan Runs On After Switch-Off Means
Bertazzoni states directly that a fan still running after the oven is switched off is normal, and that it can cycle on and off for up to half an hour to keep the controls cool. The Professional Series manual is more specific: with both selectors at OFF the cooling fans start once the cavity is above roughly 430F and stop by themselves as it falls.
Common Causes of Cooling Fan Runs On After Switch-Off
- Normal run-on after a long bake, a broil or a cleaning cycle
- A hot kitchen slowing how fast the cavity temperature falls
- A fan cycling repeatedly because the cavity is still passing back through the switching temperature
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Leave it running and let it finish. There is no benefit to switching the range off at the breaker to silence it, and doing so stops the fan from taking the heat out of the control area, which is the one place you want it gone.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Cutting the power to stop the noise leaves residual cavity heat sitting against the control electronics, which is precisely what the run-on is there to prevent.
- A fan that never stops, hours after the oven is cold, is a different matter and points at the thermal switch rather than at normal behavior.
- Reaching the cooling fan means going in behind the fascia or the rear panel of a range that has just been hot, so it waits for a cold appliance and a dead circuit.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
