Common Problems

Why Is One Zone on My Bertazzoni Gas Cooktop Weaker Than the Others?

A visibly smaller or uneven flame on one burner -- rather than no flame at all -- points to a narrower set of causes than a full ignition failure.

A burner that lights but produces a noticeably smaller, yellow, or lopsided flame compared to its neighbors is a different problem than one that won’t light at all, and it’s usually easier to resolve.

Check the Burner Cap Seating First

Each burner cap sits over a ring of small ports that the flame exits through. If the cap is even slightly off-center — something that happens easily after cleaning — gas exits unevenly around the ring, producing a lopsided or weaker-looking flame even though the burner is otherwise working normally.

Look for Blocked Ports

Boil-overs and cooking residue can partially clog individual ports around the burner ring, especially the ones facing inward toward the center of the cooktop. A weak flame with a yellow tint, rather than the steady blue of the other burners, is a strong sign of partial blockage rather than a supply issue.

When It’s Not the Burner Itself

If cleaning the cap and ports doesn’t restore a full, even flame, the gas orifice feeding that specific burner may be partially restricted — a less common issue that requires a technician to access and clear correctly.

Getting It Sorted

Most weak-flame complaints resolve with a thorough cap and port cleaning. If yours doesn’t, visit our Bertazzoni cooktop repair page to book a diagnostic.
