What Lo Means
Lo in the timer window is not an error. Bertazzoni's induction hob manual describes it as the child lock being engaged: every control except OFF is disabled so the zones cannot be started by accident, and the indicator above the child lock key is lit at the same time.
Common Causes of Lo
- The child lock deliberately switched on and then forgotten
- A key held long enough during cleaning to engage the lock
- The lock re-engaging automatically on a model set up that way
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Touch and hold the child lock key until the Lo clears and the indicator above it goes out. The manual notes the hob can always be switched off with the OFF key even while locked, but nothing else responds until the lock is released.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- There is nothing to repair here, and taking a working cooktop apart to chase a lock indicator risks damaging a bonded glass top for no reason.
- If the hold-to-unlock gesture does nothing at all, the problem is in the keyboard rather than the lock, and that is checked with the appliance off at its breaker.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
