What Flashing Power Level Display Means

Bertazzoni's manual describes a zone whose display alternates between the heat setting and a flashing indication as one of two things: there is no pan on that zone, or the pan on it is not suitable for induction. The zone has accepted your setting but has nothing it can couple to.

Common Causes of Flashing Power Level Display

  • Aluminum, copper or thin stainless cookware with no magnetic base
  • A pan too small or set off-center for the zone to detect
  • A warped base that lifts most of the pan off the glass

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Center the pan properly on the ring rather than off to one edge, and test the base with a fridge magnet - if the magnet does not grip firmly, the pan will never work on induction whatever size it is. The manual also notes a zone left without a setting for twenty seconds switches itself off again.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • If a known-good magnetic pan still flashes, the pan-detection circuit under that zone is suspect, and it is reached by isolating the cooktop at its breaker and opening the bay under the glass.
  • Induction interface discs sold to make old pans work put an extra layer between coil and food and often trigger the same flashing on a zone that is already marginal.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Flashing Power Level Display FAQ

Plenty of stainless is non-magnetic. The magnet test is the only reliable check, and it takes a second.

Not the whole ring, but a base much smaller than the printed circle often falls below what the zone can detect.
