What Demo Mode Means
Bertazzoni's troubleshooting pages carry an unusual warning: a unit that was used as a showroom model may be left in a special energy-saving state called Demo Mode, where the lights work and the display shows plausible temperatures but the appliance does not actually cool at all.
Common Causes of Demo Mode
- A floor or display model delivered without the showroom mode being turned off
- The mode entered accidentally through a key combination during setup
- A control board replaced or reset and left in its default demonstration state
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Put an independent thermometer in the cabinet and read it after a few hours. If the display insists everything is fine while the thermometer says room temperature, Demo Mode is the first thing to suspect - Bertazzoni tells owners to contact the dealer or distributor for help disabling it.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Everything about the appliance looks normal in this state, so the usual reflex of checking the seals, the vents and the settings burns days while the food sits warm.
- Random key combinations tried to escape the mode can reach other service settings on the same control, which is a harder hole to climb out of.
- There is no part to replace here, so anyone stripping the cabinet is disturbing a working appliance for nothing.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
