What Ice Maker Does Not Work Means
Bertazzoni's troubleshooting page treats a silent ice maker as two straightforward questions before anything else: is the ice maker actually switched on at its icon on the display, and is the appliance connected to a water supply. The same page notes a normal output of roughly ten cubes every two and a half hours.
Common Causes of Ice Maker Does Not Work
- The ice maker switched off at the control panel
- The water supply valve to the appliance closed or the line kinked
- A filter cartridge so far past its life that flow has dropped below what the fill valve needs
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the ice maker icon on the panel is enabled, then confirm the water shut-off valve serving the refrigerator is open. If both are right and the tray is still empty after several hours, it has gone beyond the published checks.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Close the water valve before any line behind the appliance is disturbed, because the feed to an ice maker stays pressurised whether the appliance is running or not.
- Ice maker fill valves and the heaters that release the cubes are wired into the cabinet at line voltage, so the appliance comes off its supply before the module is unclipped.
- A line refitted a fraction loose behind a heavy built-in column drips onto a floor nobody looks at for months.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
