What E2E Means
Bertazzoni's own induction hob manual states E2E means the "temperature sensor of the IGBT is high" — the IGBT is the power-switching component that drives the induction coil, and it's reporting heat above its safe operating range.
Common Causes of E2E
- Extended high-power cooking or back-to-back cycles without a cooldown period
- A failing internal cooling fan unable to keep the IGBT within range
- A genuine IGBT or sensor fault if the code returns even after cooling
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn off the affected zone and let the cooktop cool fully before restarting — Bertazzoni's own manual lists this as the remedy, since sustained high-power use is the most common trigger.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The IGBT handles the cooktop's high-current switching, and this is the cooktop's own safety system responding to real heat buildup — opening the housing before it's cooled and de-energized is a shock and burn risk.
- A cooling fan swapped in or refitted imprecisely tends to fail again in short order, and tracing an airflow problem calls for a level of disassembly beyond typical home tools.
- This is easy to confuse with the glass-plate E1E code from the outside, and misdiagnosing which sensor failed is a common, costly mistake.
- Closing the electronics bay back up without restoring its seal properly leaves live components exposed to the next spill.
- Opening the electronics bay to get at it is, on its own, enough to end the cooktop's remaining warranty coverage.
