🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Try a full power reset at the breaker for a minute — if E5E returns immediately, the sensor or connection problem is confirmed rather than a temporary glitch, and Bertazzoni's own manual points to a connector or sensor-assembly issue.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The sensor and its connector sit inside the electronics bay beneath the glass, close to high-current induction wiring, so unpowered access is essential.
- A connector reseated even slightly off can appear fixed initially, then fail intermittently once the cooktop returns to regular use.
- This can be confused with the coil or mainboard sensor codes (F3E/F4E), and replacing the wrong part is a common, costly mistake.
- Static discharge from bare hands during handling can damage sensitive sensor electronics before they're even reinstalled.
