What PRE-HEATING Light Flashing With Alarm (Knob Position) Means
The PRE-HEATING indicator carries more than one meaning on this control. Alongside the cooling-fan problem alarm, Bertazzoni's guide prints a second cause on the following page: the temperature knob is in a position the selected function cannot use - not on 500F for the broil functions, or above the 500F maximum for bake and convection bake.
Common Causes of PRE-HEATING Light Flashing With Alarm (Knob Position)
- A broil function selected with the temperature knob anywhere other than the 500F mark
- A bake function selected with the temperature knob taken above the 500F maximum
- A temperature knob knocked out of position while the oven was running
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the temperature selector to OFF, then back to a position that matches the function you have chosen: the 500F mark for broil or convection broil, or any temperature below the maximum for bake. The manual says that stops the buzzer and the indicator together.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Nothing is broken here, so pulling an oven out of its housing to chase a flashing indicator that a knob position will clear is wasted effort.
- This is the same indicator the guide also uses for a genuine cooling-fan problem, so if resetting the knobs does not clear it, the fan problem is the one you are left with and that is a technician job.
- Repeatedly cycling the selectors to try to clear the alarm makes it harder to tell which of the two causes you are actually dealing with.
