What Error Code... Means
Bertazzoni's message tables end with a catch-all: where the display shows the words Error Code followed by a number, the manual describes it as an operating problem the user cannot resolve, and says to call for advice. The instructions on the same page explain that touching the Alarm button brings the message up together with its number.
Common Causes of Error Code...
- A sensor, fan or defrost circuit reporting a value the control cannot work with
- A communication error between the display and the main control board
- A compressor or sealed-system problem detected by the control
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Touch the Alarm button so the display shows the message with its number attached, and write the number down - it disappears back to the home screen after a few seconds. The manual notes you can hold it on screen for thirty seconds with the info button, and that several problems are shown one after another in order.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The code number is the whole diagnosis on these models, so losing it by cycling the power means starting from nothing when the technician arrives.
- A refrigerator flagging an unresolvable operating problem is not a wait-and-see situation with a full cabinet of food in it.
- Sealed-system work is restricted to certified technicians under federal refrigerant rules, so there is a whole class of causes here no homeowner can address.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
