What Replace filter Means
This is a scheduled prompt rather than a problem. Bertazzoni's manual says the message appears once only about thirty per cent of the water filter cartridge's capacity is left, giving you notice before the filter is actually exhausted.
Common Causes of Replace filter
- The filter cartridge reaching the end of its rated capacity through normal use
- A household on hard or sediment-heavy water working a cartridge harder than average
- A cartridge left in place well past its date, so the prompt has been showing for some time
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Fit a fresh cartridge of the correct type for your model, then run several liters through the dispenser to purge the air and the loose carbon before you drink any. The same manuals include a water system purge function for exactly this.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Turn the water supply to the refrigerator off before a cartridge is removed on models where the head does not shut off by itself, or the first thing you will replace is the floor.
- A generic cartridge that does not seat properly in the head can weep slowly behind the cabinet, and that is rarely noticed until the floor tells you.
- Leaving an exhausted cartridge in place gradually restricts flow, which shows up as a slow dispenser and, on models with an ice maker, as smaller and fewer cubes.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
