What F2 Means
Bertazzoni's own use & care manual lists F2 as inability to discharge water — the dishwasher can't pump water out of the tub within the expected time, most often because the drain hose or filters are blocked.
Common Causes of F2
- Blocked drain filter or drain hose
- Food debris or a foreign object lodged in the drain path
- A failing drain pump
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Remove and rinse the lower filter assembly and check the drain hose behind the machine for kinks or clogging — Bertazzoni's own manual lists exactly this check, and it also has you cancel the current program before trying again.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If cleaning the filter and hose doesn't clear it, the pump itself carries line voltage, and testing it live is a genuine shock risk.
- A hose fitting torqued back even a shade under snug is a frequent source of a slow drip that only reveals itself weeks later.
- Forcing a stuck drain hose fitting can crack the plastic barb, turning a simple inspection into a hose replacement.
- Misdiagnosing a pump fault as a simple clog (or the reverse) means paying for a part that wasn't actually the problem.
- Getting to the pump under the filter assembly generally means pulling the base pan first, and that step alone forfeits remaining warranty coverage for most owners.
